How does Mantel’s carbon capture technology work?
Conventional carbon capture has long been constrained by high energy costs, the result of operating at low temperatures where thermal energy is wasted during the capture cycle. Mantel eliminates this inefficiency with a high-temperature, liquid-phase carbon capture system built around a proprietary molten borate salt loop.
By operating at the extreme temperatures already present inside industrial facilities, Mantel captures CO₂ while continuously recovering and reusing thermal energy as high-pressure steam.
The result: 97% lower energy losses compared to conventional carbon capture, a CO₂ output stream exceeding 99.9% purity, and a projected cost of less than $50 per tonne at scale.
